Ever wondered what it was like to live in a turn of the century mansion? You
can experience a taste of the lifestyle at The Beiger Mansion Inn in
downtown Mishawaka. Probably
one of Mishawaka's best kept secrets, The Beiger provides
a delightfully eclectic look at early 1900 living.
Renovator Ron Montandon who purchased the home in 1989 has restored to its
former elegance the four-level neo-classical limestone structure gutted by
fire in 1974. Six lavish sleeping chambers with private baths as well as a
Master Suite with fireplace, antique tub and shower for two give insight into
the life of the turn of the century self-made industrialist millionaire. Contrasted
with the historical appointments is free highspeed WiFi internet and a second
floor computer workstation, as well as a complete workout/fitness center and
outdoor heated pool with hot tub. This blending of old and new have earned
The Beiger Best Bed & Breakfast South Bend
Tribune Reader's Choice Award for two years running.
Not just an inn, The Beiger also serves as a premier event facility
with seating for up to 150 guests. Perfect for receptions, weddings and business
meetings, The Beiger also offers smaller venues such as the Solarium
which can accomodate groups of up to 30 guests, while the State Dining Room (40
guests), Verandah (50 guests, summer only) and Music Room (80 guests) guarantee
a warm and inviting atmosphere for any occasion. There is also a Pub that can
be booked for small private get-togethers.
The Beiger experience doesn't end with the facility, however. Exquisite food
and beverage creations are the work of Ms. Liz Drew and include Beef Wellington,
Chicken Oscar and Grilled Atlantic Salmon with lemon dill sauce. Floral and
table design services, as well as Event Planning, DJ and bar services are also
available.
If you haven't had an opportunity to enjoy The Beiger, you may want to contrive
a reason and make your reservation soon. Availability is limited, and not
surprisingly, the calendar fills up fast.
